City of Palm Desert, Public Art Program
 
  • The city of Palm Desert selected Sillice's proposal for an outdoor sculpture made of recycled glass, to be included in their Public Art Program. The sculpture will be placed at the entrance of their new Visitor Center.
  • This selection was approved by the City Council on October 13, 2005. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
  • Installation date to be advised.

Fall Wine and Art Extravaganza
 
  • Where: Sterling Hills Golf Club, 901 Sterling Hills Dr., Camarillo, CA.
  • What: this is a fundraiser organized for Soroptimist of Camarillo, a non profit organization. Proceeds benefit Amy McAvoy Scholarship and Community Service Projects. Tickets $30, at the door: $35. For more information contact Susie Hafer susie@susiehafer.com.
  • Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

  • Where: San Luis Obispo Art Center, 1010 Broad St., at the end of Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Gallery opens every day except Tuesdays, 11 am - 5 pm.

  • What: 28th annual Juried Exhibition of Fine Craft, sponsored by the Central Coast Craftmakers.

    This exhibition was juried by Kevin Wallace, former Manager and Creative Director of the prominent Del Mano Gallery, in Los Angeles.

  • What:candleware, jewelry, dining ware, wall decorations and more, made with earth conscious materials and techniques will be for sale and display. You will also have the opportunity to order custom-made designs to make that perfect gift.

Thousand Oaks Arts Festival
 
  • Where: Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza,
    Mary and Richard Carpenter Plaza Park,  2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • What: the City of Thousand Oaks celebrates the talent of local artists. More than 80 visual art exhibitors with items for sale with continuous live performances on two stages, each day.
    There will also be children's hands-on artistic and interactive art exhibits and food vendors will make sure you don't go home hungry. Last year over 10,000 visitors enjoyed the Festival. Admission is FREE as is parking in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Parking structure.
